The Avent New Bottle Brush Is One Durable Bottle Brush!
Pros
Sturdy, solid, heavy duty
Cons
Not always the best fit
Recommended it?
Yes
The Bottom Line:
This is one of the sturdiest bottle brushes I have ever used!
When I first had my baby, I went through quite a few bottle brushes. They were usually a combination of a brush and a sponge, and it was only a short matter of time before the sponge disintegrated and the brush was generally worn out. When I saw the Avent New Bottle brush, it looked like something that might outlast the others.
"Specially curved brush head and molded handle-tip reach the corners of all types of bottles, teats and feeding equipment for thorough cleaning."
Avent New Bottle Brush
I found this brush at Babies R Us, and it was about $3-4. It is a solid plastic handle with tough white plastic bristles, and the top of the handle doubles as a nipple cleaner.
My Thoughts
This brush immediately seemed much more durable than the other bottle brushes I have used. For starters, the handle is very solid and sturdy. The bristles are also strong and durable.
You can push the brush into a bottle as hard as you want, and it won't bend. This has been great for all the times formula was clumped in the bottom of a bottle, or when there was dried on residue.
The nipple cleaner comes in handy for both nipples but also vents in bottles (like Born Free bottle vents).
The brush is also easy to clean, and drains fairly quickly since it consists of just bristles.
The only downside I have found with this bottle brush is that it doesn't fit all bottles particularly well. I understand this is an Avent brand brush, so I assume it fits Avent bottles quite nicely, but it doesn't always fit other brands so well (like narrow-mouthed bottles).
I don't know if this is dishwasher safe, but I assume it is. I have never tried to put it in the dishwasher, but I have sanitized it in hot water.
Overall
This is by far the most durable and long-lasting bottle brush I have ever used. I imagine that even when I am done needing to wash bottles, I can use it for things around the kitchen, because I expect it would last that long!
