Avent New Bottle Brush - Best Bottle Cleaner We Have Found!

Pros easy to use, effective
Cons no major ones
Recommended it? Yes
The Bottom Line:  The Bottom Line is this is a nice, updated bottle brush!
With new babies comes a need for "new" stuff. We continued to use Avent bottles with each child, and each set of bottles of course needed to be cleaned. Not having a dishwasher, we wash everything by hand ... and so we needed a bottle brush.

We went to look for an Avent bottle brush (since we have Avent bottles) and noticed this brush got an update since the last time we had a baby and used this type of brush). A lot of the main features were the same. The Avent New Bottle Brush comes light blue in color as a large plastic handle and comb brush - looking a lot like an oversized toothbrush. It's held a lot like how a toothbrush would and the bristles are wetted, coated with soap, and inserted into the bottle and nipples.

What's new is that Avent decided to add a grooved tip to the handle end that can be inserted and used to clean small areas like the tip of the nipples - and we love this feature! It worked perfectly with Avent bottles, though I'd imagine it would work well with many other bottles as well. I'd think you'd have to see though, as some bottles and nipples are designed slimmer than the Avent models.

The Avent New Bottle Brush great with all our 4 ounce and 9 ounce Avent bottles though! The bristles stay white and clean, and the whole thing is easy to use. It scrubs and cleans well. It is easily stored at our sink area, though it doesn't have a suction cup or any such thing to stick it to the surface with the way some other bottle brushes do. I am glad that we purchased a bristle type - I can really tell if what I am using is clean. I always felt with sponge type bottle cleaners that the sponge surface was a breeding ground for germs!

One thing we've noticed is that this brush works really well on our toddler daughter's Gerber sippy cups - especially on the small no spill valves that any parent knows are nearly impossible to clean!

We actually travel with this brush, because it's the only thing to get them clean! It's lightweight and easy to transport. Often we just slip it into a ziplock bag and go! Since it's all one piece we don't have to worry about anything falling off or losing a piece to this.

I'd have to say overall we are pleased with the Avent New Bottle Brush. They cost around $5.00 and can be found typically wherever Avent bottles are sold. We notice that the bristles start to wear down after use after about 6 months of daily use, so we've had to purchase 2 in the course of our daughter's year with bottles ... and now she is slowly transitioning away from using them, but we will still keep this brush handy for sippy cup age!
