A nice way to pamper tired, achy feet. Gives a nice soothing, cooling, and tingly feeling.
Years ago a friend gave me a bottle of Jafra Peppermint Foot Lotion, and I loved how it made by feet feel! I never purchased a full sized bottle, but my local Fred Meyer store sells the Avalon Organics Peppermint Hand & Body Lotion in their natural foods) department, and it works just as good as the Jafra.
I love Avalon Organics. Over the years I have purchased quite a few of their beauty products, and this lotion comes in a 12 ounce pump style bottle that looks like the Avalon Organics Lavender Hand Soap.
The bottle is clear with a green tinge, picturing sprigs of mint leaves on the label. I don't use this lotion on my hands, because I have a problem with tearing eyes, and wipe them a lot (I don't want to get any of the mint in them!). Instead, I save this for my use on my feet, and highly recommend it as a way to pamper your sore, tired feet.
The white colored lotion is pretty thick, and it has a strong peppermint scent. When I rub it into my feet, they immediately have that cooling sensation, which is refreshing on a hot day. My feet even tingle slightly from the mint, it's quite intense. It also comes in handy as a rub for sore leg muscles if I don't have any Ben Gay or other such products on hand.
I choose Avalon Organics because of their high quality ingredients. It contains vegetable glycerine, which is an excellent moisturizer, as well as peppermint leaf, peppermint leaf oils, and organic essential oils.
This lotion meets my criteria of absorbing quickly and not being greasy. I do take care to wash my hands well after applying it to my feet, and it does take some extra scrubbing to remove all of the mint scent.
This is a hand and body lotion, but works great on the feet when I want to be pampered, especially after getting out of the shower or bath, and using it on my feet before going to bed. It is also nice to apply to the feet after several hours of walking the golf course. I love it! It's a great way to pamper tired feet.
