The Bottom Line:  This is a must-have for those who want to be the first to know about the automotive industry news.
I've been a subscriber of Autoweek since I was in high school, with the exception of a few brief lapses in my subscription. I look forward to Saturday when I get the mail in mailbox. I always get excited to read the latest automotive insider news, or see the latest spy picture of some new car model.

Autoweek fills the void that the local newspaper's "Auto" section doesn't even try to. When we moved here to the Knoxville area, I was disappointed to find that the Knoxville News-Sentinel's (www.knoxnews.com) Sunday "Auto" section was nothing more than classified ads with a single syndicated automotive article on it's cover. And even that article was little more than an advertisement for the featured car. There are never any in-depth tests or critiques of the cars.

Never fear...Autoweek is here! With weekly articles and automotive industry news, it is the car-lover's dream. While the format isn't as slick as "Automobile" or even "Motor Trend", it gives you something that those can't: auto news...quick. The monthly publications give you auto news after it's old news in Autoweek.

The drawbacks to Autoweek are few but important. The depth of the articles isn't what you'll find in the monthly auto magazines. But their job really isn't to get into too much detail. Rather, they scratch the surface and leave you to find out the deep story in the monthly mags. Also, there are lots of classifieds. This isn't exactly a big problem, since the ads keep the subscription prices down. You just learn to live with it.
