This was bought because I have asthma and my co-workers wear perfume. It really helps to bring clean air next to me. We have a very large room, and its too small to take care of all the air on my floor, yet its good enough to get me breathing on bad days. It is not good when the large black permanent markers are used a lot - I still have trouble breathing then. Also, after a while, the air cleaner is emitting a sweet sort of smell. It might be a sign that the filter needs changed but its only been in use a couple of months, so I hope that's not the problem. All in all, its a godsend to someone who has asthma.
