Audio-Technica AT2020 Professional Microphone

I bought the Audio Technica AT2020 from Amazon.com. I had originally purchased another microphone which did not suit my needs. Therefore I was in the market for a professional microphone. I originally had  a USB microphone. I had heard from a couple friends that USB microphones were generally not as high quality as microphones with preamps, because of the poor preamp usually packaged with USB microphones. Therefore I decided to give the Audio Technica AT2020 a try. I chose it because it's extremely low pricepoint. My friends were sceptical that it would not have good quality, because it was a low priced microphone, however, for what I have used it for, it shines. One thing to point out is that it is a side address microphone, which threw me off for a while. I was speaking into the top of it, and my voice was echoing because of the room I was in. However when I spoke into the side, all the echos went away. It has a clear, crisp sound, free of any artifacts as far as I can tell. Another thing you must have is a preamp, as without it the microphone has no way of plugging into a computer or other recording medium. The preamp must also have phantom power. All in all, I am happy with this Microphone, and think it will serve me well for years to come. My main use for this microphone is in voice recording for my own games. Since this use requires high quality recording, I need a great microphone, and I believe this is the perfect one. I also must say that I was surprised at how durable the microphone is. I have used plastic, cheap microphones in the past, and they come nowhere close to the AT2020.
