Pros A lot of the same people returned to do character voices.
Cons Michael J. Fox did not & Disney is nowhere to be found...
Recommended it? No

I really enjoyed Disney's full-length cartoon "Atlantis: The Lost Empire" probably more than any other Disney cartoon that's come out in a long time. The characters were interesting and had a lot of depth. It had a lot of good jokes with a few thrown in for the adults. SUPERB animation. My daughter... Read full review »

Atlantis, Milo's Return to Slumberland

Pros It's a Disney Movie and it's loosely based on Atlantis
Cons The plotline was weak, and the whole movie seemed to be hashed together.
Recommended it? No

Atlantis: Milo's Return was directed by Victor Cook, and Toby shelton...maybe they should have hired a different cook to make this movie Tatse Good. The movie had the voice talents of: James Arnold Taylor, John Mahoney, and Frank Welker and you can't tell me that... Read full review »

Pros Lots of adventure and action, humour is equal to the original.
Cons Animation doesn't feel quite as solid as the original. Resembles cartoon series.
Recommended it? Yes

Atlantis:The Lost Empire, was a masterpiece of animation, and a change in disney filming. Gone were the characters who'd burst into song. I hate it when they sing!

The direct to vidio sequel continues where the story left off. Even though the title is Milo's return, the central character... Read full review »

One of Disney's weaker direct-to-vid efforts

Pros Voice actors return. An exciting moment or two.
Cons Generic animation and stories.
Recommended it? Yes

Disney's direct-to-video animated fare has never been particularly well-regarded. Operating with lower budgets and less time, a few of these features have turned out well, but most seem like rushed attempts to capitalize on well-known theatrical features from the studio rather than start up... ATLANTIS - Milo's Return [VHS]

Like Disney's animated Atlantis: The Lost Empire, its sequel, Milo's Return, is an Indiana Jones for the younger set. Bespectacled Milo Thatch (James Arnold Taylor taking over from Michael J. Fox) is back in this made-for-video release, helping to rebuild Atlantis alongside new sweetheart Queen Kida, but all is not so calm in the outside world. A giant octopus-like creature, the Kraken, is terrorizing a local village, so Milo, Kida, and the rest head out--Scoobie-style --to make things right. Once that problem has been solved, they're off to the Southwest to tame a passel of wild sand coyotes and then to Antarctica to battle a 100-foot ice monster. Milo's Return is a series of loosely linked adventures drawing on a variety of mythologies, including Native American and Norse, that doesn't always have much to do with the original movie, but is always lively and entertaining.
