Pros large world, lots of items monsters and adventures
Cons little to old and buggy looking for its time...
Recommended it? No

Asherons Call went retail a while after EQ, and like many people who played EQ and were a bit burnt probably jumped to AC... How wrong a move it was.... Unfortunately Asherons Call has a lot of potential, it seems like the started out programming carefully, and halfway got bored and through the... Read full review »

Lets start off by saying, I used to play Ultima Online, which is why after I quit Ultima, I saught another online "rpg".
You may think the reasons I bash this game are unfair... but this IS my review after all...
In Asheron's Call, you start an adventurer, (This goes by the level system)... Read full review »

Pros Good Storyline, game changes monthly, expansive world
Cons $9.99 a month to play, need more servers
Recommended it? Yes

I never played Everquest, never started on this whole online rpg craze with Ultima Online, in fact the closest I got to online games was getting kicked out of a Command & Conquer: Tiberian Sun game for have a 56.6 modem.

So when my friend told me I had to go out and buy Asherons Call, I... Read full review »

Pros magic, land, setting, world alterations
Cons too strong of archers, monster variety
Recommended it? Yes

I found this game to be fairly intriguing. As a member of the beta test I experienced the glitches and the power first hand. The spell system, as touting, is awesome. There have been complaints that spells are too weak, and that the global mana pool is a good "idea" but bad in actual use, but I... Read full review »

...and enter the world of Dereth in the game of Asheron's Call (or Asheron's Crack, as it's been called). If you ever played on a MUD (multi user dungeon) in college, you'll feel right at home in AC, which is essentially a graphical MUD but yet has so much more to offer.

AC is an... Read full review »

Pros Fast Loading, Average Graphics.
Cons Everquest ripoff, Lack of depth, or character selection.

I've been playing Turbine/Microsoft's Asheron's Call since the early beta stage. Basically, for those of you interested in it, I would strongly advise you play it before you buy it. You begin the game by choosing a character. There aren't really races and classes, but beings, in a way. A certain... Read full review »

My boyfriend and our roommate got this game and started playing it, I watched over his shoulder for a few days and decided I HAD to go out and get it myself. I was never a big game player until I started playing Quake3 and I'd seen a few friends play Everquest and hated how slow the game went...in... Read full review »

When a friend came to me a few weeks ago he started talking about this great new game he just got. So, as the adventures type I am, I headed out to my local Best Buy to find it. I soon found a world of Warriors, Wizards, and a weird guy in a loin cloth.

The first thing that turned me on... Read full review »

1 Helpfuls 2 Helpfuls Was this review helpful? Comment
Pros Great playing structure, hours/days/months of fun
Cons graphics not as good as Everquest
Recommended it? Yes

I orginally bought this game to get away from the laws and restrictions Sony's Everquest had, and to an addicted online RPG player like me its very depressing not to be able to do what I want in an RPG(Role Playing Game). So I found Microsoft's "Asheron's Call" ( AC ) and my online gaming world... Read full review »
