Better than Everquest
Pros
Great playing structure, hours/days/months of fun
Cons
graphics not as good as Everquest
Recommended it?
Yes
I orginally bought this game to get away from the laws and restrictions Sony's Everquest had, and to an addicted online RPG player like me its very depressing not to be able to do what I want in an RPG(Role Playing Game). So I found Microsoft's "Asheron's Call" ( AC ) and my online gaming world opened up to me. Despite the graphics arent as good as Everquest (EQ), the game play is so much more enjoyable. Here are some comparisons:
* It IS possible to solo in AC, after lvl 10 or so its impossible to solo in Everquest.
* Sony is constantly changing the rules of EQ...changing spells, armors, rules, restrictions...making players VERY confused on how to play the game. Asheron's Call has few updates and the RPG system seems to be working well without constant changes, thus making the game fun
* EQ 's servers are so full - they have invented a term called camping. The mobs spawn so slow in this game that you have groups of adventures "waiting" next to the mobs spawn points for them to show up. In AC the spawn rate is MUCH faster and there are 100x the places to hunt - you never go without a fight!!! Sometimes you find the spawn rate is very quick...just like it should be CONSTANT ACTION!
* In AC - as your experience increases, you have control and can spend exp points on your skills and attributes...thus making custom characters as YOU see fit,oh yeah!! * big applause from the RPG fans*
Thats just a few of the things I can point out right now. So I hope this encourages some of you Everquesters to try this game out...Its VERY worth it. Asheron's Call comes with a Free month of online playing ( $10 a month after that) and is around 25-30 bucks in the stores.
THUMBS UP!!!!
