I recently tried out this game on advice of a friend. He was telling me how it was a lot like Mech Warrior. Being a fan of the game I decided to try it out. Thankfully, I get a free rental at the local video store each month for a year so it wasn't to big of a risk.

Pros Graphics, options, sound, simple learning curve, and a versus mode that's worth...
Cons PS2 could handle more, graphically and otherwise.

Pros Intuitive control scheme, easy to pick up and play, deep enough to keep you playing.
Cons Graphics don';t push the hardware, no analog support, this game offers nothing new.

The original Armored Core was an exceptional and highly underrated mech shooter for the original PlayStation. Pros Good depth of customization, good graphics, good voices and sound FX.
Cons Too few missions, slows during heavy "combat", some music tracks are weak.
Recommended it? Yes

Armored Core 2 for the PS2 is a "robot war" type game. Game play involves building a robot or "AC" unit and doing battle in the "Arena" and performing missions of destruction.
