Not a Very Good Camera
Pros
Cheap, has LCD, digital
Cons
LCD lags, cheap, poor picture quality, excessive beeps during picture taking, etc.
Recommended it?
No
The Bottom Line:
I wouldn't recommend it- save your money for a better camera. It lags, the LCD isn't clear, the picture quality is horrible, and it can't focus on close-ups.
I have three hamsters, and wanted to buy a digital camera that was cheap so I could simply post pictures of them on the online forum I belong to. I had one previous cheapie camera without an LCD, which worked well until my cat knocked it off the desk and it broke. I decided that I wanted something with an LCD.
I looked all around for a camera that was preferrably around $75 or less, but with an LCD, and I found this one. I was so happy to have found it. I found it via ecamerafilms.com. First mistake- trusting them. They said that it was orginally $175, marked down to $50- so I figured it must have been refurbished and decided to get it. I figured that this would be the best deal I would be able to find, and I better snatch it up while they still had it in stock.
So my mom let me order it, and it came. The packaging wasn't what I expected, by any means. It wasn't in a box like you would find a good quality digital camera in, it was in one of those wraps like you would find a CD walkman in. So I was discouraged already, but I didn't want to judge it by it's packaging.
I quickly tore through the package with some scissors. In no time and some sore hands later, it was open. I immediately flipped it over to see the LCD (that's the reason I chose this one) and it's TINY! And I mean tiny. I put the batteries in and turned it one. Not only is it tiny, but it lags by at least a half a second when moving the camera around. And it doesn't show any contrast in colors.
But I still was not super disappointed- I got it for hamster pictures, and I figured that I should at least test it out. So I installed everything on the computer and waited for a hamster to wake up. My syrian woke up, and he loves to pose for the camera. So I waved it over the cage and he knew what was going on. He looked up at it so sweetly, and I snapped shots until all 24 pictures (in the highest resolution) were taken. Then I went over to the computer. None of the pictures were satisfactory, and I was so disappointed.
Between pressing the button to take the picture and taking the picture there is a big lag, so if you move even a little bit, you're going to have a blur for a picture.
I also joined the musical for our school, and I wanted to take pictures to remember it by. So I took in the camera to get the pictures, and I'm not satisfied with any of them. Sadly, now I don't have much to remember every body by because the pictures didn't turn out very well. Very disappointed.
I would tell you to save your money. It's tempting to get something like this, but it's really not worth it. Although I hate it, I'm not disappointed- I learned a lesson- it may be tempting to go with the cheapies, but they aren't good. And now I have to save up again, and this time I'm going with something better- although it would be nice to have $50 to save up on instead of nothing. Oh well- hopefully this review will save you from making the same mistake I did.
Although it is a piece of junk, I'm not going to return it. Waste of money to send it back, and I can use it.
