The Don of mp3 players

byianadu Mar 13, 2001
Pros 6 Amazing and compact gb of music and data storage
Cons No remote control of wired remote.
Recommended it? Yes
The Bottom Line:  The j 6000 beats all other hard drive based mp3 players in price, over all package, and functionality.
First of, I love the price of this bad boy. I picked mine up last week and all my friends at work want one because their little 64 and 128 mb does not compete with my Archos 6000. It took me 2 weeks before I decided to go with the Archos over the Nomad Jukebox. Both offer the same size 6 gb and both sound pretty amazing but the archos edged the nomad by doubling as an external usb hard drive. The nomad will only let you download onto it but not upload(Thanks to our friends in the Artist Against Piracy). The menu of the archos at first, was a bit overwhelming because I have 4.7 gbs in music files and that came out to be about 900 songs. Accessing all those files is nearly impossible without creating a playlist. You control all of that by creating folder using windows explorer and it is so easy. Once I had my folder i.e. playlist, I can access my music by the categories I selected such as rock, dance, etc. This tiny Archos is the best mp3 player that I've ever used hands down. I can pick one up for my mother and she can use it and that's why I highly recommend it.
