The good:

Pros size, capacity, sound, gadget factor
Cons no line out, volume adjust, short cable
Recommended it? Yes

After having a failed experience with a Yepp mp3 player, I decided to take a step up and go for a jukebox product.

No regrets. The archos came in at the right price, the right size and the right software! At $320 with a $75 mail in rebate, it is a little hard to argue a case against 6GB... Read full review »

Pros Great storage capabilities and easy interface
Cons Somewhat lagging software, playlists are limited

The Jukebox 6000 is a 6GB hard drive based mp3 player made by the computer company Archos. It seems that many of the hard drive based mp3 players that come out are made by computer companies rather than companies that have already created a lot of audio products (Sony, Panasonic, Phillips, etc.)... Pros Huge 6GB disk storage; ruggedized case.
Cons Volume doesn't go low enough; pouch doesn't show controls.
Recommended it? Yes

The Jukebox 6000 comes with a whopping 6GB of MP3 storage space, 2 sets of NiCad batteries, charger, belt pouch, headphones (behind the head type), and USB cable. For $350, it is the best price per MB of storage. It's easy to copy MP3 files to it. Once you install the Jukebox software and plug it... Read full review »

Pros 6GB in a small, compact package. Easy to use. Holds any files. Sturdy. Well-designed
Cons Battery removal difficult, risks marring case, Can't use regular 1.5v AA cells.
Recommended it? Yes

I just purchased the Archos Jukebox 6000 as a birthday gift for my fiancee, but I may keep it for myself! This is the ideal design for a portable MP3 player. Based on the same, ubiquitous 2.5" hard drive found in most notebook computers, the Archos is just a bit bigger than your average... Read full review »

Pros storage size, unique design, battery life (includes 2 sets)
Cons smaller, but not tiny, display / UI should be better, battery life indicator not accurate
Recommended it? Yes

I had the nomad and returned it because it really didn't do much for me. chunky, relatively poor battery life, and no double use as a hard drive. It went back after one week, just wasn't worth the money. So, I waited for awhile, and then appeared the archos, which fit my bill.

Pros Lot's of space for songs Small, looks cool Easy to use Long battery life
Cons You can't make the sound really loud, but it still goes up pretty high.
Recommended it? Yes

I've been wanting to buy an MP3 player for a long time but they were always too expensive or had too little memory. Archos Jukebox 6000 has 6GB of space, which is equivalent to 150 CD's or 1500 songs! It's also way more affordable than other MP3 players of its capacity (I got mine for $301.00... Pros Cool looking, Superfast startup/shutdown, easy firmware upgrade, is a portable HD!
Cons Skips now and then, lacking in Mac support, cheap peripherals, minimal ID3..
Recommended it? Yes

This player has the PERFECT size, solid feel, decent playback (though volume could be higher), adequate playlist functions.
Player skips now and then, a bug that the company acknowledges but seems unable to address.
It comes with a pair of sports headphones that basically suck, a power... Read full review »

Pros 6 Amazing and compact gb of music and data storage
Cons No remote control of wired remote.

First of, I love the price of this bad boy. I picked mine up last week and all my friends at work want one because their little 64 and 128 mb does not compete with my Archos 6000. It took me 2 weeks before I decided to go with the Archos over the Nomad Jukebox. Both offer the same size 6 gb and... Read full review »
