The Initial Problem
I bought my Archos Jukebox 6000 about 2 weeks ago. I always kept it in good condition and never have I dropped it on the ground. Yesterday I was in my car and using this product with a car set that I have. Everything was working fine until we hit a bumpy section of the... Read full review »

Cons Sound Quality, Reliability and Construction.
Recommended it? No

Well folks the first generation of hard drive based mp3 players is almost over. This restriction-less portable was a Godsend to all those who wanted a simple feature like uploads and unobtrusive software.

When you think of both a jukebox and a hard drive you want both great sound quality,... Read full review »

Pros 6 gigs for $250 sounds great eh? rechargeable batteries
Cons Skips, Heavy, Skips, hard to operate, Skips, battery compartments
Recommended it? No

My wife and I went to Best Buy to purchase an MP3 player. She was not familiar with them and I only had somewhat of an understanding of them. I download them and play them on my PC and that's about it. I do know about the rates and the hissing so I knew what I was looking for. We saw the 128megs,... Read full review »

Pros Small Size for a Hard Drive based player, Explorer interface to add / delete files
Cons Quirky cheap feel controls, Mediocre sound quality
Recommended it? No

I played with the Archos Jukebox 6000 for about three weeks before returning the unit to the store as defective. I'm not sure if it was just my unit that was very quirky or if that's the way they all are - sometime it wouldn't switch on and sometimes while selecting music to play it turned itself... Well worth a look if you're looking for an MP3 player.

Pros Holds many hours of music. Comes with easy to use soft
Cons Cheap plastic buttons. No dial - multiple presses to get to functions.
Recommended it? No

If the quality of the plastics were better, and if the controls were more user friendly, this would be an amazing buy. But with the quality of the finish, I am not impressed.
It can be used to upload MP3's and other data which makes it useful.
It's hard to tell if this device can survive a... Read full review »

Pros memory capacity, durability, design, ease of use, acts as an external hard drive
Cons headphones are mediocre, battery life is ok, sometimes the volume isn't high enough
Recommended it? Yes

I recently bought the Archos Jukebox 6000 after shopping around for some time. The newsflash is "Countrymen, we finally have a portable mp3 player that has the minimum memory capacity for the new millenium."

Memory had always been my biggest gripe about the other portable mp3 players out... Read full review »

Pros MASSIVE amount of space, software rocks.
Cons the headphones suck, it's not QUITE loud enough at times...
Recommended it? Yes

Much like y'all, I browsed around Epinions.com, as well as cnet.com when I was in the market for an mp3 player. The long and short of it is that most of them are the same: tiny, extremely portable, with between 32-128 (occasionally 256) MB of storage space. My concern was this: yes, I'd like it to... Pros Lots of memory space, size, works as an extra hard disc, batteries last long
Cons No good for jogging, heavy! complicated to use, heats up really easily.
Recommended it? Yes

Most of the pocket players in the market works with the memory card, Archos Jukebox 6000 has a bit rearer idea,
the is't based on the use of the hard disc.
Archos has 6 gigabytes of recording space, which means that you can put about 150 cds of music in to the device.
Archos can also... Read full review »
