Pros space,size,new headphones,price
Cons battery life is short, volume menu, tech-support
Recommended it? Yes

Finally the search is over. After months of looking for the best MP3 Player I have finally chose the Archos Jukebox 6000. It has a 6 gigabyte capacity and doubles as a hardrive. I was skeptical after reading some of these reviews but for $200 this is the best deal you can get! They have changed the... Read full review »

Good player with a big brain

byBrandonX Aug 20, 2001

Pros Price, size, Explorer interface, battery life
Cons Weight, lack of volume control knob, battery compartment
Recommended it? Yes

The Archos Jukebox 6000 is a portable 6GB MP3 player. It?s the smallest player of this type on the market, approximately the size of a small cassette walkman. It?s kind of heavy (for an MP3 player) but the thought of carrying every MP3 I have on my computer with me makes the weight bearable.

Pros Economical. Can be use to store MP3s and as hard drive to store data.
Cons Does not work.
Recommended it? No

I have long waited for the price of this product to go down, but when I got it two days ago it would not function. The price I got was 199.00 with a $20 rebate from Best Buy. When I got home I started reading the manual to be sure all instructions are follow when I hook it up to my computer. I... Read full review »

The Best By Far!!!

Pros easy to use, stores allot of music
Cons none
Recommended it? Yes

I am very impressed with Archos Jukebox 6000. It's main competitors are Nomad Jukebox from Creative Labs and the Remote Solution Personal Jukebox PJB 100. All of these devices use a hard drive to store MP3 music for portable playback. Archos is amazing for the amount of music it holds: at least 100... Read full review »

Frustrating product and company

Pros 6 GB, purchased from Archos site directly for $200, bargain?
Cons skips/stalls, can't run, jog, or walk w/o skipping, horrible support
Recommended it? No

I cut and pasted in the letter I sent to Archos along with my defective player. I've also added further text at the letters end concerning the third player I received.

This is the Jukebox 6000 I was told to return after speaking with Archos Technical Support. This is the second Jukebox... Read full review »

Pros Small, compact 6 GB hard drive. Can store other files on it.
Cons Awkward controls; tinny, weak output
Recommended it? No

When I first got the Archos Jukebox 6000, I thought I had it made. Here was a portable unit which would essentially make my whole music collection portable. It was sleek, small with a good amount of heft to it that I was confident would make it a strong, reliable piece of machinery. Boy, was I... Read full review »

Pros if it works, it works well
Cons very buggy, tech support is abysmal
Recommended it? No

I have had several significant problems with my Jukebox 6000 and with the company in general.

First and foremost, the technical support is pathetic. The toll free number, 800-559-3605 is listed in the documentation, but as of a couple of days ago they closed it down. This is not a phone... Read full review »

Great system, but too much like a desktop

Pros So much storage space, compact, easy to use, ergonomic/good design
Cons It is a bit heavy, not a good workout player, the earphones are uncomfortable
Recommended it? Yes

This mp3 player is Ideal for the car, and for long trips. It's also good when you want to isolate your music from your computer, since it is a hard drive by itself.
As for the conventional uses of a mp3 player it does not score high. Mp3 players were typically lighter than the normal CD... Read full review »

A Great Deal

Pros 6 gigs of music. Portable. Great for car trips.
Cons Tough for non-techies to get used to. Short battery life. Not much bass.
Recommended it? Yes

The price for this 6 gig MP3 player/hard drive is quickly dropping across the world. Originally costing close to $400, it now can be purchased for as little as $200 in some places. Based on the average size of an MP3 song, you could fit 1500 songs on the Archos Jukebox 6000. Most of us don't have... Read full review »

Chicago Radio? NO MORE!

byTheEngine Jul 12, 2001

Pros Tiny, solid feeling, Holds both data and MP3s.
Cons Controls and menu navigation, sometimes just drops sound for a split second
Recommended it? Yes

Chicago. City of Big Shoulders. The City that works. With so much high quality entertainment value in Chicago, its amazing the FM radio band is about as entertaining as listening to a dentist drill. Now of course this is all debatable and strictly opinion. If you like like Hip Hop dance stuff, then... Read full review »
