Great, better buy than an ipod video.
It does so much. It plays audio and video files. It can play many different types of video files. It also doesn't play some types of video files. It is hard to learn how to download and input the codecs, do not even know if that is possible. Of course conversion of the file is something you will look into rather than making the AV500 play the file.
It hooks up to your television set and can record what are watching. It even has a scheduler and will record at a certain time. The wires for this connection are included and it is very easy to figure out. Wish the wires were a little longer, so you need a little table that you can place beside the television set. You can also use the same connection tools, to watch the video saved on your AV500, on the television set. Now the bad part about this is, it picture quality and sound quality depends on the file's existing quality. Just makes the picture bigger.
The viewing screen is a lot bigger than an Ipod, which makes this a tool. The buttons are something that is difficult to get used to. You have to learn how to use the tool and this could take a while. It can be plugged in or you can use the battery, which lasts pretty long. The picture quality is great.
