Yes
I bought the Apple iPod touch from Apple (comes with free engraving of your intials that way), after travelling with my daughter to a hotel with free wifi. I saw how easily she could check her e-mail, and I knew I had to have one. Since then, I have used it when travelling to Europe, and found it very helpful. Besides email (and of course, music) the apps are excellent--such as a currency converter, very helpful--and free. I gave it 5 stars even though the ear pods are not very comfortable, and I upgraded to better (inexpensive) ones on Amazon.
