The Bottom Line:
I recommend this product to people with a smaller music library, since it can't fit thousands of songs.
I have recently bought an 3rd Gen. (8gb) iPod Touch and I am very happy with it. I like how it has an external speaker, it's really nice to hear music even without headphones, though it's not very clear.
I hook it up to my iPod speakers whenever I can to, not only listen to my music, but to charge it. With how much I charge it, it's a shame on how much power it loses so quickly!
I haven't had any problems with it except for the fact that it dies quickly unless I turn it off. This is fairly irritating, especially when it is locked and NOT in use. I think it's rather annoying when I pull it out to play it in the car or something and it has 20% battery power remaining. I don't walk around with a charger.
I don't understand why people let this replace other things in their lives though. There isn't a reason you can't still listen to the radio or a few CDs. Also, an iPod dies really fast when playing games or surfing the web, aside from the fact that you can only surf the web in places with wireless connectivity.
Overall, the product itself is very good though.
