The new Ipod nano is basically a glorified version of the new one, it still plays music videos, still has the cool little tilt screen, and still has the same memory intake. Don't get me wrong, it works great and I love it, but nothing really has changed except for a shake application that allows you to shake it and change songs randomly. But when I bought my Ipod from Wal-Mart I was immediatley at a loss for words about how frustrated I was when it would go off without me even trying.
Functionality
The 8GB Ipod Nano is a great addition to the Ipod Apple family. It is a small, light-weight, machine that is more tough than I ever imagined. With a sleek, rounded design to emphasize the Ipod even more. The Ipod easily fits into any pocket, and with the style of today by putting the headphones inside your shirt, it's easier than ever to slack during classes or work. Not that anyone would even think to do that...
Performance
This Ipod Nano is an 8GB and can hold every song in your library if you don't have over 2,000 songs. Just know that if you add music videos the available memory declines rapidly. The Nano is obviously not for people who DJ or have thousands and thousands of songs but it works for all your favorites and more.
Great thing about it is that it can connect to any Itunes and charge that way. You can also change the settings on it and make it so you can manually managing music so as to prevent downloading all your friends music and losing all of yours in the process.
New Stuff
But it wouldn't be the next generation Ipod without some new applications and toys to play with. The games available on it are new and exciting. One actually allows you to use the Ipod like a tilt and make a ball move across a course, just like the Ipod Touch would do.
The one thing I can't stand though is the new shake feature. This allows you to simply shake your Ipod and change the song at random. Sounds good right? No more pressing buttons or looking through the library at the small screen. Wrong!!! This feature is one of the most annoying inventions put into the Ipod. Its so sensitive that just putting it down in your car wrong will set it off and interupt your favorite song. Luckily it has an off button because I turned it off as soon as I could.
What's the verdict?
Ipod Nano is overall a great pick for anyone, especially with the many color options available to you. Of course its not perfect, nothing could ever be perfect right off the bat. But with the options available to personalize it, it becomes on of the greatest and most necessary part of yur life.
