The Bottom Line:
Overall, I loved my ipod mini. If I didn't have such problems with the battery, I probably wouldn't have replaced it.
For a while, I had wanted an ipod. I was extremely excited when my father decided to buy me one as a present. Of course I chose the pink color since red (my favorite color) was not available. From the very beginning, I loved how easy to use it was. My father who is in his 50s also got one. He is relatively computer savvy for someone of his age, but still sometimes has problems dealing with setting up electronics. Even he was impressed by how intuitive the controls were.
Over time, I grew to find some issues that I had with my ipod. The first was how you have to be extremely careful with it or it will scratch. The second issue is the storage capacity. I opted for the 4g mini thinking that 1000 song capacity would be plenty. After having it for some time, I started to wish I had opted for a model with a larger capacity so that I could store more on it. Furthermore, as time goes on, the battery life begins to decrease....a lot. The worst part about that is that apple doesn't sell replacement batteries. You pretty much have to replace the entire ipod, which is quite a costly replacement.
After two happy years with my ipod mini, I have decided to upgrade. My ipod mini would barely hold a charge and I wanted a larger storage capacity. I am eagerly awaiting the arrival of my new black ipod video 30g, which I ordered just the other day. I will be sure to review it as soon as I receive it.
