The Bottom Line:
I'd like to say I got a bad one. But my experience is not unusual. I cannot recommend an iPod video to anyone.
I love my iPod. When it's working. Which is to say seldom. I've never dropped my iPod. I always make sure it's wearing a protective neoprene "jacket." I don't leave it in extreme cold or heat. I take care of my iPod.
Yet despite all the precautions and care, my iPod seldom works. Most of the time it spools up and displays a sad face iPod icon. Sometimes, it spools right up and plays wonderfully. Once, it worked for over a week, trouble-free. Then it went back to sad face.
Even though it's covered by a neoprene jacket, with a clear plastic screen cover, the iPod is badly scratched.
I wish I could get my money back. This was a very bad use of my money. If the iPod worked as it should, as my iPod Shuffle works, I would feel differently.
Also, I feel the iTunes software is fussy and not very easy to navigate through. I'd like to be able to easily edit my library. But the software really doesn't allow for this. And playback through my laptop, despite being new, is often choppy.
