iPod Video by a professional DJ
Pros
Size, display screen, easy to use
Cons
Needs better case included, battery life
Recommended it?
Yes
The Bottom Line:
If you like to be able to carry your entire collection with you, plus be able to watch videos, this is the iPod for you!
I am a professional mobile DJ. I had previously purchased a 20 gig iPod in early 2005. I liked the sound quality but of course, once I buy something, the next generation comes out. I am a product of the 80's. Back when MTV actually played music videos. I wanted to be able to watch my favorite videos when I was traveling.
Price - I purchased it at Target for $299.99, they had a promotion where you get a free $30 Target gift card with purchase. The price is fair considering the quality of the product.
Size - WOW! Thinner than the 4th generation iPod.
Screen - The videos are very easy to see on the screen and the color is fantastic.
Battery - The one drawback. Watching video sucks down the power. I haven't tested it but everything says you can realistically get 2-2.5 hours of video time from a full charge. 14 hours of music only playback.
Case - Apple needs to include a case for this or change the body of the iPod to keep it from getting scratched up. I bout a case at the time of purchase and it doesn't come out for anything now!
iTunes software is included along with the usb connector that you have to use to charge and transfer music. The iTunes music store and program are both very easy to use. I transferred over 2,100 files in about 4 hours using a high speed usb port.
Overall - If you want to be able to watch video at the gym, on the plane etc. This is the item for you! Please feel free to email me with any questions.
