The Bottom Line:
I think if you do the research, this is the best value for the money. It is also the most integrated and easiest to use.
I first purchased an iPod photo 20GB and used it for one week. It was very good and provided entertainment while I was out of country. When I got back I found the iPod Video 30GB for only $20 more so I returned the iPod Photo and purchased the iPod Video.
This thing is awesome. I have 3000+ songs and it used less than 12 GB of disk space. I also added about 24 hours of Video, and these really do not take up a huge amount of space, it's not a little over half full. I used free online tools to pull DVD's and put them on my iPod. I plan to use this on trips to drive a Video system in my van so I don't have to bring DVD's. The video files are about 100 MB per half hour. When you compare the cost to others for what your getting, it's the best deal.
Things I like:
30 GB is great and should meet all of my needs.
Video resolution is very good and clear with no drop outs.
Sound is good, but I would consider new headphones.
iTunes integration
Things I would change:
The clock, needs customization so I can add my own cities.
The startup of a Video is slow, a few seconds to load and start.
Accessories continue to be expensive.
Provide power adaptor like iPod Photo instead of separate purchase
