My husband and I don't have a stereo system in the downstairs of our house and had recently been looking to purchase one - that is until we learned about the Apple iPod Hi-Fi speakers. We own an iPod, but in looking at the Apple Hi-Fi thought it wouldn't meet any of the desires we had for a music system. I mean, it's so compact and relatively small.

The very helpful Apple Store clerk walked us through a brief demo of how to use the incredibly simple system and then proceeded to turn the volume up - very high. Other shoppers turned around because what came out of the small box was clear, crisp sound, accentuating the bass in the song. The clerk proceeded to tell us that the "box" had subwoofers, tweeters and two speakers all built into it. We were sold.

Upon setting it up in our home, we ended up playing with it for hours and testing different songs, at different volumes, in different parts of the house. I quickly learned and was happy to know that the system really does produce a "surround sound" equivalent. Hard to believe, but absolutely true.

This machine is great. Has a good warranty, handy little remote so we can change songs or volume from different areas of the house, is compact, sleek and most importantly - makes our music sound great!

Additionally, it's compact enough that it can be relatively portable. It also has the capability to run on battery power, so as the clerk mentioned, we could take it to the beach. I don't think we'll be removing it from its current place in our living room though - we love it!
