Great Sound/Design needs tweaking
Pros
Great sound!
Cons
Does not work properly when run off batteries. Remote stinks!
Recommended it?
No
The Bottom Line:
I don't think this product is worth the money at this time. Apple needs to tweak the design to improve function off batteries and have menu on remote.
I bought the Apple iPod Hi Fi at Target about a month ago and brought it home to use with my 30G video iPod. Set up is simple and Apple provides adapters so the system can work with any iPod that can connect to a dock. I plugged the system into the electrical outlet and away we went.
This system has very good sound quality--good enough that I gave away all of my old stereo equipment and speakers. I found the sound to be clear even at loud volumes or with heavy bass.
I enjoy this system, but it does have some pretty big flaws considering the price:
1)The system does not work properly for any length of time when you run it off battery power. After one hour of using batteries, the system volume decreased and could not be increased until switched to regular power.
2)The remote stinks! The menu button does not function and you must go over to the iPod to change playlists. Also, the volume controls are where the song controls should be and vice versa. This means that I often switch songs when I am really trying to change the volume.
I enjoy the sound, but I do no think I got what I paid for.
