Yes
The Bottom Line:
If you have the money buy it. It's worth it.
I bought my Ipod during Christmas time , I was fortunate enough to get the exact one I wanted a black 60GB, at half the price. ( I got really lucky on Ebay). WHen I got it home I was in love. It is a girl's best friend. It took a long time to get ALL my CDs in there, I went a step further and only put in the songs I liked. I didn't download all the songs in each CD. It took a while. But now when I shuffle the songs while Im driving I have my own radio station. It plays only songs I like.
Upsides and Downsides....
As you know it's beautiful, it's black or white exteriors are shiny and gorgeous,
the downside.. it scratches even with minimun usage, so buy a good case. I've gone through 4 allready just trying to find a durable, comfortable one.
If it's well protected you never get to see your beautiful IPOD either way you hear it.
The headphones...
They're white, so if you buy a black one it doesn't match... another thing you have to buy. They also hurt my ears I don't know if it's everybody, but it was really bothersome. It sounds great. I changed to black ones that are INSIDE fitted. They look like cones instead of 2 little circles, much better.
The battery....
If you listen to music only, no videos, don't look at the pictures, it will last you more than a day and a half. If you look at videos, the battery wears out like crazy along with the picture slide shows.
Charging...
I hated the fact that you had to connect it to the computer just to charge. That meant leaving your computer on just to charge your IPOD. It does NOT come with an AC adapter that's another $40 investment you have to put in your IPOD. Luckily for my birthday I got the IPOD speakers, and they charge your IPOD while you listen to music. Or overnight. That was much easier.
ITUNES...
YOu have to KNOW what you're doing. At first I lost the information about 5 times, my IPOD would be connected to the computer and nothing was happening, when I turned on the ipod all the music was gone and it was restored to factory settings. Apparantly it's common, when I called the Apple costumer service they knew how to deal with the problem very easily. Now the thing is BACKUP YOUR MUSIC. IF it's gone from Itunes it will be gone from your IPOD unless you put it on manual settings. We had to upgrade our PC because more than 2000 songs will slow down any computer. When we upgraded, I had to start over with the ipod and itunes. Little trouble for such great rewards. There is a button on the IPOD control screen on the computer to reset to factory settings. Whenever you do that you LOSE all your music from your ipod.
BACKUP...
Your ipod functions as a backup also. You can transfer the songs back to your PC from your IPOD. So they are safe, IF you have the IPOD on manual settings.
PICTURES...
It's great to have your pictures around. After the last shut down I haven't put them back in. I don't see the need for pictures in your ipod. They look great, they have a great slide show. But why? But the choice is there. They take up no memory. I had over 1200 pictures and I still had over 55GB left on the IPOD. I wanted this IPOD because of the pictures and now I don't use it.
ART... When you play a song, you have a picture of a CD cover that is visible with each playing or you can put your own pictures to come up with each song. I have put the picture of my kids when certain songs play, and that's nice. Be reminded of them while Im at work. OR in a waiting room.
It's also nice to see pictures of Ricky Martin, Jon Bon Jovi or Harry Conick Jr come up every so often.
VIDEOS...
Great quality. Great for people who travel a lot. You can download a movie, or tv shows and watch them in GREAT quality. It looks awesome. It does eat up a LOT of battery, and fast. Now you can't just download any video, it has to be in MP4 format. And most of the time Itunes doesn't convert them.
Songs...
You can have the music collection of your choice at your fingertips. It's really great. I have from the 60's to now, from rock to country to rap to jazz. ALl at my hearing pleasures. AFter I download my first 1000 songs I noticed the oNLY CON to the IPOD. Searching for a song when you have so many songs in there. If you have 2000 songs like I do now and you want to search for... let's say...Pump IT by the Black Eyed Peas.. you would have to scroll down every song. Not a good thing to do while you're driving. You can do playlists and have your favorites with easier access. So there are ways around it. Of course when you have a song in your head and you want to hear it, you're just going to have to scroll.
ACCESORIES...
There are a lot. I just purchased the radio control. You can now listen to FM radio on your ipod. IT's really great.
The Radio Transmitter, that's a little piece that connects to the ipod so you can hear it from any fm radio. YOur car, home etc. It's a great product, just be ready NOT to hear the best quality of songs. You'll hear it like a radio and most of the time with static. But, you don't have to wear your headphones and you can turn it up in your car and scream out your songs and not look crazy.
The cases, because it doesn't come with one. The protectors for the screen etc.
They are all pricy and if you are not like me and shop in the stores instead of Ebay you're going to spend a lot of money on the accesories.
