Let's be honest. I'm not a gamer, nor do I ever use all the functionalities built in a desktop/laptop. I really use the computer only for reading the news, social networking, and online shopping. For those purposes, I find the iPad a perfect tool! Typing on it is much easier than on an iphone or ipod. It starts up a lot faster than any netbooks/laptops + easy to navigate around. It is however, quite uncomfortable to put on the lap, and slightly too heavy to be holding on. Overall, I'd recommend it - we even bought one for Dad (who can't use any form of technology other than the standard phones), and he's been hooked on to it ever since!
