Switching from PC to Mac was long overdue!!!

Pros Battery life, size, durability, display, ease of use, price, Apple support...
Cons Wouldn't change one thing!
Recommended it? Yes
The Bottom Line:  If you need a new computer, then don't settle for another PC. Invest in the MacBook Pro and you will never go back! It's the most versatile computer...toy...you'll find!
I do not write many reviews and I will not highlight specifications since they are available in more detail than I am capable of understanding or explaining, but I will express my sincere excitement after purchasing my first Apple computer. I have recently used two different Gateway laptops. One lasted through college and beyond (8 years of serviceable use) and the other managed two years of pathetic-ness! The screen stopped working and the support I received from the manufacturer was as accommodating as the broken screen. It was slow and the virus protection was expiring (thank goodness) and I was ready for a change.
I purchased the MacBook Pro and I have not stopped using it. I was hesitant at first since I was unfamiliar with the operating software, but it was an easy transition and within a week I was already comfortable and efficient with the new programs, layout, and touchpad. It was so easy to learn, that I had more trouble going back to a PC and using the controls and programs that I have been accustomed to using for the last 15 years.
The battery life is great. I believe it is rated for 9 hours+ and I get every minute of that. It's built well and seems very durable. My previous two laptops had plastic pieces that always seemed fragile and did break, eventually. This is solid, yet, lightweight.  I have not had one issue in the four weeks I have owned the MacBook Pro. As I type this, I am trying to come up with a single issue, problem, error, etc., but I have none to report on.  Setting up the network with the MacBook, router, and printer was almost too easy. I am sure that for most it is an easy task, but I seem to encounter any possible error, making network connections a chore for me. This was easy! Every program included with the MacBook is functional and perfect more my home use. I added a few for business operations, but it is well suited for everyday use right out of the box.
The main point of this review was to help with anyone who was like me and hesitant to make the "switch" to unfamiliar Apple products. DO IT!!! You will not regret it. I haven't! I play on the computer, I use it for work, and I bring it with me everywhere I go now. Also, the customer support that I have needed from Apple was beyond satisfactory. They were great when I called in for some basic user questions. I paid approximately $1200 for mine and I think it is worth more.
Also, the startup/login time when the Mac is powered up may be worth the price alone! Anyone who has experienced the slow PC startup time will certainly appreciate this.
