The Bottom Line:
Buy it, you won't be sorry.
For the nearly 20 years I've been using computers, I was always a PC girl. When it was time for me to get a new laptop, I looked around at the trouble all my friends were having with their Dells, and HPs, and decided to splurge for something that was going to last. All of friends who use Mac rave about it, from its user-friendliness, to its longer useful life as compared to a PC, so I decided to check it out.
I read tons of reviews online, and decided on the MacBook Pro. I could have gotten the MacBook for under $1000, but it did not have all the features I was looking for. I really prefer the aluminum casing of the Pro to the white casing of the MacBook. And I didn't like the black pad on the bottom of the white casing. The design is extremely aesthetically pleasing. The unibody truly is a work of art. It's one piece, and for that reason seems more sturdy than other laptops I checked out. Despite its sturdiness, it's very slim, and light. I love the chicklit keys, and the keyboard is close to full size if not full size. I've had no trouble typing on it. The keys also light up on the Pro, which I didn't think was a huge selling point, but now I really appreciate it. The battery life (close to 7 hours) is unbelievable. Since the screen is compatible to my tv, I watch a lot of tv shows on it.
As I said, I have always used PCs, so I was worried about figuring out how Macs work. Not that different than a PC, turns out. I upgraded to a 4 GB hard drive, and I am very happy with the speed of my computer. Some people have complained about Macs being slow, but I do not find that at all.
All in all, I'm very pleased with my decision to get the MacBook Pro.
