I purchased this laptop last year.
This was my first MAC product and it did take some time to adjust from a PC. I have to admit that this laptop has stayed consistently fast. I can open lots of windows and it doesn't seem to slow it down any. The battery life is longer than most laptops if you allow it to drain completely and then recharge it as opposed to just giving it quick charges or leaving it plugged in all of the time. Also the graphics are great. Unfortunately the sound isn't adequate for noisy areas unless you use headphones.
I do miss being able to open Winamp videos that my friends send me in emails. So far I have not found software for MAC suitable to preform this task. So, I always have to save these in my email and use a different computer to watch them.
Although this laptop is solidly built, it is very heavy. The 15" model doesn't have the built in numbers keypad on the side, which I also miss. But, it is a quality piece of equipment and some things are worth sacrificing for quality.
Next time I will purchase the lighter Air model. I can't imagine carrying this heavy laptop around a college campus all of the time. But, do appreciate the speed that it maintains as well as being less susceptible to viruses.
All in all, this is a great product and I am very pleased with it. I am especially pleased now that Office for MAC is available.
