Handheld Wireless Keyboard for iPhone, iPad & Apple
Sexy, Durable, Compact - What more can you ask for?

The Story

I purchased an Apple iPad just a few weeks ago and was astonished at how well I adapted to it and it blew me out of the water at its speed and multiple uses. So, that being said, I soon realized that it would be accompanying my on business trips and vacations and so I decided to research and then invest in a keyboard to improve the many uses of my new iPad. I noticed that Amazon and Best Buy had the same price, except that Amazon is tax free, but I didnt want to wait for the 3-5 business days so I went to Best Buy and paid a little extra to have it right now.

The Product

The Apple Wireless Keyboard works with the following products that I know of: iPhone, iPad, & MacBooks. Pretty much any Apple product that has the Bluetooth ability. It is a standard "QWERTY" keyboard with all the function keys, number keys, and arrow keys. Of course, there are also the numerous programmable options, FN keys, Command key options and more. The far top right hand side there is a button that disables & enables the iPads on screen keyboard. Its nice to be able to control the volume and brightness from the keyboard so you dont have to switch programs of pick up the device.

- MSRP: $69.99 + tax

I have heard and read people complain about a battery issue where the device stops working completely. But all the reports place it at after 2 years of use. For me, I am sure I will have bought a new one by then or moved on to the next latest gadget. That is to say, if Apple hasn't already fixed the problem. Those reviews are from two year plus old keyboards. I have never seen or heard of any other problems.

Another note: this is a non-standard size keyboard which means it does not come with the 10 key section, so for all those accountants, you are out of luck.

Design & Durability

- Design Rating: 10 out of 10. The brushed aluminum is just heaven, which adds to the durability as well. Its slim design and light weight feel makes it palmable so you can hold it with one hand and type with the other, if need be the case.

- Durability Rating: 9 out of 10. I droped a rating on the durability because when you shake the keyboard it rattles on both the power on/off button and the battery compartment. For something that is meant to be carried around alot, that could eventually lead to somehting braking. Also the back side is a nice white gloss with the Apple logo centered. But for durability, its is easy to scratch and see dirt and smudges, something could be done to improve that portion of the device. However, in the long run, none of these deterrants detract from the overall use and functionality.

Support & Warranty

- Limited Warranty: 1 year
- Website: www.apple.com

Should You Purchase a Separate Product Warranty: Short Answer, no. Long answer, its not worth it. I was offered a 3 year warranty for something like $30. That is nearly 50% of the value of the device. Invest the money and buy a new one when it breaks. There is simply not many parts that can break on this and very few issues ever reported with the device. The only exception to the rule, are you living on a boat or somewhere risky for electronics, than maybe a warranty is worth it.

In The End

It is just the right size to fit into most Apple iPad bags and cases. I personally use a Wilsons Leather Tote, as some of my friends call it, a man purse. But it works well and the iPad and the keyboard fit into it nicely with room for other items and accessories as well, including a cell phone slot. After research on other wireless and foldable keyboards, I found that this one is by far the best. Size its perfect, durability is the best, and price is optimal.

I highly recommend purchasing this product based on the above findings and user experience. I rate the product five out of five stars. Thank you for reading this review, I hope you find it enlightening and will assist you in whether or not to purchase this product. It has been my great honor, have a wonderful day.

Regards,
JBHut
