Pros Excellent features, large capacity, sleek, good battery life, easy to use
Cons Back scratches easily (it can be prevented with a case)
Recommended it? Yes

I digitized my music collection in my first year of college after space and time constraints made juggling my CD collection increasingly frustrating. The transition coincided with my discovery of iTunes; this fabulous music player and organizational program. I can count on a single hand the number... Read full review »

Pros Works well with iTunes, is a beautiful gadget
Cons The click wheel can be unresponsive
Recommended it? Yes

My iPod career started about 3 1/2 years ago after receiving a 40 GB (audio only) one as a gift from work. It wasn't too long before it became a part of my lifestyle. I have always had a long commute and soon enough, the iPod became essential for my drive.

To quickly synopsize, an iPod is... Read full review »

"New" Video iPod just adds features that should have been in the first Video iPod

byyusakugo Oct 4, 2006

Pros Brighter Screen, Costs less than original 60GB version, improved battery life, search...
Cons Not much of an upgrade from last video iPod, limited video playback and limited formats
Recommended it? Yes

If you owned the first Video iPod, there isn't much to say... the Video iPod version 2.0 just tweaks a few things on the original Video iPods. In fact, a firmware upgrade gives you many of the small improvements. The only things unique to the "New" Video iPod is the extended battery life especially... Read full review »

Pros Stylish, reliable, plays movies too, massive capacity
Cons The standard ear phones are awful
Recommended it? Yes

iPods have come a long way from their humble roots of being a personal music player. With the ability to play music, play videos and be used as a photo viewer I think that Apple have gone too far.
Apple have developed a niche since the iPod is more than an MP3 player but not quite a fully blown... Read full review »

First Impressions of a New Classic

byNisMax Sep 30, 2007

Pros More storage for the same price as the previous generation. More battery life.
Cons Some people may not like the new screen layout with the menus cut in half.
Recommended it? Yes

Don't let the name "Classic" fool you, this is a new iPod. The naming scheme basically comes into play because of the new iPod Touch which was released in the wake of the iPhone. Apple decided to give those of us who aren't all ga-ga over the touch screen some new upgrades.

The first... Read full review »

Pros Good looks, storage overload, light weight
Cons expensive, mp4 formats, no instruction
Recommended it? Yes

So now I have joined the Ipod Revolution with the other millions of people in the world. I used to ask myself why does everyone have one whether I am at work, school, or the airport. I didn't really even think of buying one until we bought one for my niece for Christmas. It was the 30g black version... Read full review »

The Ipod Classic Is A Hit!

Pros Sounds great, looks great, tons of storage. It's the standard others compare...
Cons Miniature hard disk drive is more fragile than flash memory music devices.
Recommended it? Yes

Face it. The iPod has set the standard for portable personal media entertainment. It's the one that all the other guys, SanDisk, Creative, MS Zune, etc. have to compare themselves to. The iPod Classic has raised the bar again. As a former user of the 5th generation iPod, the enhancements added to... Read full review »

Pros Cheap, Generally works good
Cons BIOS reading on Core 2 Duo Temp
Recommended it? No

I wanted a cheap board to fit into a Micro ATX case and was generally pleased with other ASUS motherboards. It installed and works pretty good.

The BIOS reads the core temp incorrectly. It thinks one of the two cores on the CPU chip is running at 71C. I use Arctic Silver 5 thermal paste... Read full review »

An iPod?

A friend of mine a few years back made an interesting comment to me that stuck in my head:  "There's no reason to buy CDs now-a-days."  I don't completely agree with that, as there are some artists that can't be found on iTunes (yeah, I know...not many).  But that one comment set me... Cons Still scratches easily, included earbuds are lousy, be sure to upgrade

More than three years ago, I wrote a review about my first iPod, a 20 GB 4th gen model. I'm now on my third iPod, after having an 80-GB 5th gen model.

For me, the iPod Classic is the best non-touch screen iPod Apple has yet produced, and I'll tell you why in this review.

The New... Read full review »
