The Bottom Line:
A must have for music lovers on the go!
I recently purchased my first Apple Ipod product, the 30GB video version. I have had two previous MP3 players, both of the flash variety, and this is a major upgrade. Kind of like going from a Yugo to a Ferrari, if you catch my drift.
First, it is so easy to upload music onto your PC and then onto the Ipod. I have had my laptop for 1 1/2 years and it has had itunes on it since day 1. I don't know what I was waiting for to get with the program (seeing as everyone has one). I have over 300 cds, and while it takes time to get them all onto my PC, the conversion onto the Ipod couldn't be easier. As simple as plugging in the Ipod to the USB port on your PC. It automatically uploads the music every time. It also uploads new music you have installed on your PC every time you plug it in. No more going through different programs and clicking the mouse to upload the songs.
I haven't yet experimented with pictures or videos, but from what I have been told by various friends, that is also as easy as pie. My next task will be to download a movie and see how that works.
As far as the use of the Ipod, it is very easy to navigate through and figure it out. It has several different options for sound quality, music playing (shuffle, album, song, etc...) The scroll wheel is a nice feature as well.
The only down side I see, and this is from doing research of my own, is that it scratches real easily. That can be easily corrected by purchasing a protective cover, and there are several different options out there.
