I love my iMac

Pros Incredibly easy. None of the complex set-up required by a PC.
Cons Pricey. I had to learn a new user interface after 15 years on Windows PCs.
Recommended it? Yes
The Bottom Line:  I love my iMac. It provides a far superior experience to my PC. The video editing capability is far beyond anything I was able to do on my PC.
I have always used PCs at work and have resisted buying a Mac because I just didn't buy into the whole Apple mystique.

Four weeks ago, I had the need to shoot and edit a video for work. We completed the shoot in a few days, but then I had 4 hours of video footage to edit. After spending more than an hour trying to install my Sony video cameras software onto my Dell PC, I was nearly in tears.

I was up against the wall with my deadline, so the next day I went to the Apple store with my video camera in hand, and asked them to show me what the iMac could do for me.

The Apple guy took my video, plugged into the iMac on the floor using a Firewire cable, and instantly began to capture my video. With a few clicks, he trimmed a couple of clips, adjusted the audio, and played back the edit.

I kind of stood there with my jaw on the floor. I couldn't believe how simple it was on the iMac, especially compared to my experience on the PC. This was a standard iMac without any special software loaded. It was a thing of beauty, and I bought one on the spot!

Now that I have one, I totally prefer it to my PC. It took me a few days to "learn" the Apple interface, but I find it very intuitive. And where it doesn't feel intuitive, I find it has a very comprehensive help capability on the machine. There are also tons of iMac forums online to go for help with questions.

The 20" monitor is gorgeous, and I actually find that I prefer watching DVDs on this screen as opposed to my TV.

I love the all-in-one body/monitor. It looks very clean and uncluttered on my desk.

Getting online was just as simple as the video capability. I simply turned on the computer and entered one password when prompted by the wireless network software, and then I was surfing the web.

There is just no comparison with a PC. I love my iMac!
