Good concept, audio streaming useless

The Bottom Line:
Not recommended if you live in an urban environment with potential wi-fi interference.
Frustrating and non-intuitive setup on non-apple wireless network (D-Link 802.11g router, 2 Win XP SP2 laptops with iTunes 4.7.1) involving some wierdness, but eventually got it configured and connected.
USB print server works fine. Currently that's it in terms of reliability. Audio is another matter.
AirTunes drops unpredictably and frequently making music unlistenable much of the time.
Living in densely populated urban environment with many other wireless AP's showing up in NetStumbler (up to 18 Wireless access points show up at some times due to adjacent apartments, etc.). Tried everything that the Apple KB article had to say about AirTunes drops and pauses - changing channels, enabling and disabling encryption and interface robustness, moving the router around, sticking to 900 MHz cordless phones - no luck. The intermittent audio drops continue, typically just when you don't want them to, and then some days it works fine.
Intensely annoying and time consuming. I have switched back to cables for playing audio with my laptop through the stereo. I have wasted far more time trying to get the airport express to work than I ever would have spent with years of plugging and unplugging audio extension cables.
Exercise extreme caution if you intend to buy this product under similar circumstances.
