Radio for $50. LOVE This Product, would not recommend to a friend.

Pros Excellent radio reception, includes headphones (see con), nice to have a remote.
Cons too expensive for radio, 'old headphones' style, tangle of wires, kinked wires
Recommended it? No
The Bottom Line:  So expensive for radio! Great quality. Fun iPod add-on. Not practical, just buy a separate radio, this would be a good gift b/c it is a luxury purchase/item.
This is a great quality, well made product, it is useful and well made; if money isn't a concern I would recommend it to a friend. But if practicality is a strong influencer, I would say, just buy a portable radio, there are very good ones for well under $50.

What does it do: It adds FM radio functionality to your iPod. How: the product you buy is a long cable that attaches to the port at the bottom of your ipod; once it is attached you have a radio option at the top menu of your ipod. I assume the length of the remote contributes to the excellent radio reception.
Includes
The radio remote includes headphones with a shorter cable so when you plug them into the remote, the length will be shorter than if you used the headphones that came with your iPod. The remote controls the music or the radio. The remote is a clip.
Functionality
You do not have to have your headphones plugged into the radio remote to listen. You can plug them straight into the iPod and still listen to the radio or music.
How I Use It
I usually plug the head phones that were included with the iPod directly into the iPod and clip the remote to the top of my pocket or my shirt then I control the music or the radio with the remote.
Explanation of Cons
My opinion is that it is too expensive for Radio!! I paid for it b/c I wanted to listen to the the tvs at the gym (the audio is broadcast on a short range radio frequency.)
I probably should have just bought a separate FM radio to be practical.
The remote ships with the same headphones that shipped with all iPods for about five years, and the one that still currently ships with the second generation (clip) shuffle.
Having the radio remote (which is long) and the headphone wires creates a massive 'rat's nest' of wires in your pocket, you will spend 20 seconds untangling that mess pretty much anytime you retrieve your iPod.
The packaging for the radio remote bends the headphones and the end of the radio remote around a piece of cardboard. It looks well presented in the package but three months after owning this product their are still kinks in the headphone and remote wires. this doesn't affect the sound, i just don't like kinked wires because I believe that it will negatively effect the longevity of the wires.

Overall, this is a luxury product, I don't think radio should be built into the iPod since the length of the antenna contributes the most to the radio signal quality.
And there are radio podcasts...
and; in my opinion, the whole point of iPod was/is to control what you listen to...not listen to radio. I think the iPod/digital music was a very anti-radio statement. But I also feel like I am being gouged for radio tuning with this product.
