I just bought this product on Ebay. I received it 4 days ago and have been playing with it ever since. I thought with the hurricane season upon us once again and electricity surely to fail. With my car charger and my radio remote, I will have radio the whole time.
Well I opened up the remote and found it comes with headphones, the same that come with the ipod, if you bought better ones, don't worry they fit. It only comes in white, so if you have a black ipod like me it kind of clashes, but I really don't care about that, It doesn't bother me. It has a long cable that attatches on the bottom of the ipod, so once again you can't charge it while listening to the radio. you plug it in and the radio option automatically appears on your ipod. You don't have to add any software or download anything to it. You can tune the radio up and down with your ipod scroll or the control from the radio remote control. IT's small and it clips on to your clothes so it's not floating around loosely. I have had only one problem so far. The radio options just turns off. I don't know if it's me, my ipod, my control. DOn't know. I haven't had the time to find out. But after about 5 minutes it just turns off. So I disconnect it and connect it again and BOOM it's on again. Then It will play for as long as I want.
So far from what I have noticed it doesn't waste a lot of battery. I've listened to a full day's worth. You can plug your headphones to the actual control or from your IPOD. Works either way. Only downer, the cables are too long and too much if you're going out jogging with the IPOD, (not that I do). For the purchase I itended for , it's perfect.
I bought it for $39.00, but in APPLE.com or Apple stores they're selling it for $49.99.
The reception is great, if you're in an area with radio reception. Don't go into a steel enclosed room, otherwise it won't work. The screen is cool looking you can see the station numbers really big, black and white no color. And at the bottom the station's names and songs come out along with the singers. (ofcourse that's on participating radio stations, which right now are most of them). The control on the radio remote is small about 3 inches wide. it has a small circular bottom arragement. you can turn up the volume or change the station on it. It also has a lock, just like the ipod. If you start playing your own songs on your ipod, the remote works as a remote for your ipod also. Allowing you to fast forward, rewind, change songs and control volume.
