Apex Digital AD-800 DVD Player

I bought this DVD player since it was a great price for a progressive scan DVD player. I was planning to get a digital TV later on but wanted to wait for the prices to drop. So I just played my DVDs happily on a projection TV and was satisfied with the player for 8 months after my purchase. Suddenly, I saw red lines on the display. I thought it was too hot so I turned off the player on the main switch for a few days. I turned it back on and the lines were still there. I put in a DVD and got an error saying it needed to be replaced. I stuck in a different DVD and it gave me the same error. I called support and they said I needed to have it repaired for $40 for labor (parts is covered under 1 year warranty, labor 90 days). I also had to pay for shipping which didn't make it any easier. Power source blew or something. Save your money and don't buy this player!
