Apex Digital 600A DVD Player

I bought the Apex AD-500 from a futureshop boxing day blowout. A DVD player for $149CDN, sounds too good to be true. I got the DVD player home and hooked it up no problem. Setup was easy and in no time i had my new gladiator DVD up and running. Now the biggest problem with this player is the skipping, frames and sound get choppy and sometimes freeze completely. The brightness also changes from light to dark and then back to light. There is also a problem when using scene selection. The frame seems to flicker off center every few seconds. Now for the kicker. I returned this machine for another APEX AD-500. The exact same problems happened on the second machine. I would recommend sticking to a reputable electronics manufacturer even if it does cost more. Who knows how long these guys will be around.
