Apex Digital 600A DVD Player

I received this as a Christmas gift from my parents, along with some new DVD's. I was really excited and when we got home we hooked it up right away. First thing I put in a movie and it says NO DISC. It only did this with one of the movies, but when I tried it again, it wouldn't give the Movie back! So, I take it back to Circuit City. They get my movie back and give me a new DVD player. Great. We get it back home, hook it up, try my movie and it plays. Wonderful! We continue to watch and notice that it skips... alot. It's not the movies, we tried all of them and they are brand new. Both the video and audio skip, particularly during loud, action-packed scenes. Some movies are worse than others. So, we take it back again and they give us yet another one. They also let us know that if there is a problem that we can't take it back again and we need to contact the manufacturer. Last night was the last straw though. We rented Gladiator and it went fine for a little while and then sure enough it started to skip. We are used to it now but then it got really bad and started freezing up about every two to five minutes, you could hear the machine working trying to keep up. It stayed frozen for up to several minutes at a time and we were not able to finish watching the movie. I think this is a total piece of junk and will call APEX on Monday. I will let you know how it goes.
