The Bottom Line:
Good for the average user at a good price. Brings new light to your favorite movies. This is an opinion on Apex AD-500A.
My husband and I bought the Apex AD500-A this past Christmas and we have used it approximately 20 times since then. This player is great for those that want a simple DVD-player. It was easy to set up and has not given us any problems. Can be connected to a receiver for Dolby Digital. We tried playing our own burned VCD and were unsuccessful several times, my guess is that it will only play store bought VCD.
Although this is a good DVD player for the price there is some picture quality lost (compared to more pricey brands) but it is not that noticeable. A lot better than VHS.
Some functions: OSD, Dimmer, search, setup, title, prev/next, angle, play mode, time search, resume, zoom, slow play, pause/step, menu, repeat, return, A-B repeat, audio mode, subtitles, mute, and language change.
Has a 1 year limited warranty.
