Hybrids Can't Always Reproduce
Antz, originally released in theatres in 1998, provides detailed, sometimes stunning animation. The cast names read like a who?s who, with Woody Allen and Gene Hackman heading up the list. Produced by the upstart Dreamworks studio (Speilberg, Katzenberg, Geffen), the film immediately butted heads... Read full review »
Woody Allen Voiced a Neurotic Ant in Antz
After Pixar had so much success with Toy Story, they went on to make A Bug's Life. Dreamworks also started working on computer animated movies and released Antz very close to the release of A Bug's Life.
Z, a worker ant, wasn't happy with his life in the colony and he wanted to be...

Surprise! Its not a children's movie
I saw Antz on video in August of 2000. And its was very different from what I expected! I expected cute and light entertainment suitable for young children. Instead, I found cute, but not-so-light entertainment suitable for teens and adults.I was distracted watching the film by trying to figure out... Read full review »
A Surprisingly Good Movie!
I was pleasantly surprised at this movie when my girlfriend brought it back from the video store. It's probably not a movie I would have picked, as my first choice is always action/adventure or comedy.
However, I found ANTZ to be highly entertaining none the less. The animation was very...

Creepy Crawlers ! Antz !
Don't let my subject fool you. When I first heard about a movie about ants, my first thought was " Yuk, why would someone wan't to pay money to see a movie about these things that are on the ground and that are a major nusience?"
Well, needless to say my daughter "Nicole" was just dying to see...

Not For Young Children
But, if you are a horrible parent like me, you go ahead and let your 3 year old watch it because it keeps her entertained! The reason I say its not for children is the language. There are a few curse words in the movie. But if curse words do not bother you, then this movie is for you.
This...

Antz Goes Marching One By One
One of the early chapters in the battle between Pixar and Dreamworks, this one regarding A Bug's Life, and Antz. People say that the two films are pretty much the same, but they're wrong.
Apart from having lots of ants in them, the main similarities end there. Antz wants to be a cartoon for...

Antz
"Antz" is just like George Orwell's Animal Farm, but it is funnier. Sure, Orwell's brilliant satire is humorous, but is nothing like the razor sharp comedy that explodes from "Antz." Instead of building the communist regime from the ground, "Antz" brings us into the colony when the communism is in... Read full review »
Ants and communism.......
I saw this the week after I saw Pleasantville. The same thing happened to me where I saw the preview and knew I had to see it. I mean, when the screen started to move underground and they said something about an underground society, I crossed my fingers and said "it's about ants, it's about... Read full review »
I'd rather see some PANTZ
Anyone else notice that these ants are NAKED?! A minor detail. Parents, watch out! The princess ant has nice legs, and I'm talking about six nice legs.
Well, the graphics in this movie are stunning. When there is a close-up of a face, I am astonished by the amazing detail. Especially with...
