The Bottom Line:
This is game is great. Unique, fun, and addicting. With endless play you get your money's worth.
Animal Crossing is quite an interesting experience. There is no end. There are no enemies. There are no game overs. So why is it fun? I'll tell you.
Animal Crossing is its own world. You're a person living in a town. All other town members are animals. You interact with them by doing deeds for them, exchanging mail, and giving gifts. But there's much more you can do.
There's a store run by a raccoon. You can buy from there and even sell old junk you don't want. Items to buy include shirts, wallpaper, carpet, tools, paper, and umbrellas. You can fish. You can catch insects. You can plant flowers, cut down and plant trees.
One of the most enjoyable activities is upgrading and decorating your house with all kinds of furniture, carpet, and wallpaper. There are so many choices and endless ways to decorate. In addition you can add music which you receive every Saturday from a Dog musician.
The best furniture is the classic NES games which you can actually play. These include Balloon Fight and Donkey Kong. Other games like Super Mario Bros and Zelda are available through outside sources,
You can make your own designs and wear them. You can personalize your character, with any kind of shirt you want.
At the post office you can store money which in this game is a system of bells. You can mail letters and gifts to your animals.
With a Gameboy connection you can visit a tropical island with an animal resident living there. There you can decorate an island hut.
You can donate paintings, fish, insects, and fossils to the Museum and see them later.
Most holidays have there own special appearance and gift making the experience even more real. This works because the game is on real time.
The controls are easy. Move with control stick. X and Y to open inventory. A to talk or use a tool. In your house you can change angle with the c pad.
All in all this is a good game. Never ending gameplay, but a bit repetitive. At least if you play it and hate it, there are 19 NES games you can still play. It's so real yet so fictional.
