I was tired of all of the Medela hype and wanted to be different so I bought this product July 3rd 2010 despite it's higher price. The unit quit working July 6th! 3 DAYS later! The light would come on and the motor would cycle twice with no suction then nothing at all, just the green light. I went... Read full review »

We first purchased this pump in 2004 when our first child was born. The pump worked very well during the time we needed it. (Approximately 6 months) We then lent the pump to a friend who used it for a couple months and now after our second child in June 2007 we have been using the pump with very... Read full review »

I bought the Purely Yours with my third child after my Medela pump stopped sucking. I did a lot of research and was pleased with the reviews it had received. I was also happy with the price. I have been using the pump for 3 months and have been very happy with it. It only takes me about 20 minutes... Read full review »

Cons Went through a lot of batteries

I love this pump. I am in the military and was able to go on trips and pump in a tent with hardly anyone noticing. I would recommend this pump over the medela anytime. My lactation consultant recommended this pump and we drove 60 miles to get it. This pump was also very handy in other countries... Read full review »

Pros Works really great.
Cons Doesn't work for long.

I read all the positive reviews on this product before the baby was born, and I bought the Ameda Purely Yours Breastpump new for $160. It works really great. However, after two months it stopped working, just like some of the other reviewers said happened to them. I cracked the case, and discoverd... Read full review »

Pros Easy to use, efficient, and budget friendly choice. Recommended by lactation consultants.
Cons Big, heavy AC wall adapter. That's it.

I actually own both this pump and the Medela Pump In Style Original, and being a maternity RN, I have a little bit of knowledge. They say that can be dangerous...let's see.

I have had my Purely Yours since 2001. It was used for two months pretty faithfully. Then I loaned it to my cousin... Read full review »

Pros Cost, Pre-assembled, actually works
Cons It's not quiet...sort of noisy

I purchased this product on line and got it two days later.

I was weary about buying a pump becuase of the prices and not being able to test them. You can only rely on opinions like this one.

I decided to buy this one after first buying the Evenflo dual electric pump (not the... Read full review »

Pros Great price; great power & suction; ease of use & portability
Cons Bag is not quite as stylish as others
Recommended it? Yes

I bought the Purely Yours pump after using the Medela Pump in Style for three times a day for five months. The Pump in Style was great, but it was expensive and held only four bottles in the cooler section (Purely Yours holds 6 - 4 oz bottles). Don't get me wrong, it was a great pump. It never lost... Gets the job done noisily

Pros Lightweight, easily portable, electric and battery operated.
Cons Noisy! No numbers on the suction/cycle setting so you have to wing it.
Recommended it? No

I bought this because it was recommended by my LC - and I was already sleep-deprived enough that I didn't really research further.

My biggest beef? It's noisy. Hard to get into the "mood" when the noise is such a factor - and I am hard of hearing. I always worry (at work) if someone can... Read full review »

My first child was born premature and I was forced to pump from the time of her birth. I rented several hospital grade pumps before I was given this model. I used this particular model for six months.

The Ameda Purely Yours Dual pump had a week suction compared to the hospital grade pumps... Read full review »

When I found out I was pregnant with twins, I knew I needed to get a breast pump before they arrived. I wanted to be educated about pumps and chose the best one on the market, regardless of price.

I took a breastfeeding class at the hospital and they displayed nearly every model out there... Read full review »

Why I got this pump...

I got the Ameda Purely Yours pump through my state insurance coverage. I probably would have picked the Medela Pump in Style had I been given the option, but you know what they say, "Beggars can't be choosers".

I was in desperate need of a pump... Read full review »

Sufficient but seems to lose suction over time

byredberry Apr 16, 2005
10 Helpfuls 11 Helpfuls Was this review helpful?
Pros Closed pumping system
Cons seems to lose suction power over time
Recommended it? No

I purchased this pump after seeing that it was one of the more popular and much less expensive than the Medela Pump in Style. It was sufficient but it seemed as if the suction was weakening and every week it seemed as if I had to turn the suction control higher (after just 2 months of use). I... Read full review »

I am on my fourth baby now! I have went back to work full time while my hubby stayed home with the kids. I have used this pump with all four kids. They have all been strictly breastfed. Pros Satisfactory performance when it works. Not too noisy.
Cons Cheaply made. Bad customer service and warranty.

We bought the Purely Yours based on these reviews, and the fact that our local Kaiser pharmacy carried them.

The first one we brought home only sucked on one side. The adapter cap (where the tubing connects) was molded without a hole where one was supposed to be. The clerk at Kaiser was... Read full review »

I purchased this pump after returning to work full time. I had previously purchased an Evenflo single pump. Pumping 3x a day 5days a week with a single pump was not effective for me as it took me away from my duties at work. I can now express milk for my baby in half the time. I have already begun... Pros Cost; effective; LONG LIVED; great dual pump
Cons Not quiet; flanges cannot be screwed onto a bottle too tight or they will break.

I bought this pump, used, on eBay back when I was pregnant with my first daughter in 2001. I used it twice a day, every weekday, for 15 months with her, then shelved it until my second daughter was born in 2003. I used it with her for 12 months, again twice a day, every weekday. It's still going... Read full review »
