Before Khadijah was conceived, I already had my mind made up that she would be breastfed, so when the pregnancy was confirmed, I did a lot of research on breastpumps to make sure I'd get the best possible pump.
Well, needless to say, I was convinced into getting a hospital pump! Worse mistake I ever made. I used it a few times and it just wasn't getting the job done, so I took it back and ended my rental agreement. Then I bought a different electric pump, but it was horrible! Without being too graphic, let's just say the pump sucked my breast nearly off! So, off again I went to find another one.
Then I heard about Ameda.
After first, the only thing I saw was the $230 price tag. I was leery after experiencing the other pumps and the price it was asking, but I bought it anyhow. It was the best pump!
The pump was very easy to carry to work so that I could pump during my breaks. It didn't take forever as the hospital pump did and it didn't suck my breast nearly off. It was so natural! The pump is quiet and works just like a nursing baby! I was in love with this pump! Although I'd much rather had Khadijah nursing all the time, when you work, it is hard to do, so this was the best thing to do, was get a good pump!
If baby #2 comes around, I will buy another one of these pumps! Although they are pricey, you could save a little back each month and then buy it right before your due date if you can't afford to buy it right out like I did. you'll never be sorry!
