Great if...
If you commute daily and read the paper this is ideal. Its less portable than the little one. But is much better for scanning news stories. Carried in a briefcase/purse negates this problem.
Battery life starts off about a weeks worth and degrades to about 3 days. Not bad at...

Good idea
I like the Kindle, but i am really ticked off by the use of PDF versuses simple .txt format. I am not a fan of PDFs and that is a big turn off for me. The .txt is a much easier format to use and is much more versatile. Also, the prices for the PDFs that Amazon is offering are still quite high... Read full review »
Ground-breaking but it's no Apple iPad
Amazon's Kindle is far from the first ebook reader, but the design and the timing was right, and they have been able to solve the chicken and egg by providing plenty of good e-book content and slick distribution.
