The Bottom Line:
I think that this is the coolest device to come down the pike in a long time.
This is the first time that I have ever reviewed any item. I personally think that this is one of the coolest items (ideas) that has ever hit the internet. How many of you listen to AM radio for talk shows or sports related shows, and find it hard to get a signal. This is a product that solves almost all of the heartships of tuning AM (and FM as well) stations. It receives over 11,000 stations from around the world over a standard wireless connection (you can connect directly to a computer through an ethernet cable as well). I received this product yesterday by UPS. By last night, I was listening to radio stations from my home town (Miami, Florida), the town that I have spent the last 4 years (Palm Bay/Melbourne, Florida), and the town that I currently reside in (Kennesaw, Ga). The reason for purchasing this product is because my significant other likes to listen to night time radio shows (which does not work in Kennesaw, Georgia). It was easy to set up (as long as you have a wireless internet and the encryption code (which most people today should have, not that they do). It does not have stereo quality sound, but it does not have static either, and it comes with stereo plugs to plug in external speakers. It also has a headset plug to listen to undisturbed. Oh! By the way, you can listen to police scanners, NOAA, public television, and many other genra's. If that wasn't enough, my significant other likes certain music. I copied some songs from my desktop onto a flash card, and yes, you can plug in a flash card and play mp3 tunes. It is also an alarm clock, and a regular FM radio, and a multi-media receiver. As I said, I have never written a review before, but this product is so great, that I had to write about it. Before I purchased this product, I had read reviews, and some of them were a bit negative. People indicated that they had to load a new version of the firmware before they could use it, but that review was a while ago, and I had no problem. People also indicated that it had cheap sound. This is correct. It sounds like a normal clock radio. Yes it is also an alarm clock radio. The sound can be enhanced by either plugging in better speakers, or plugging in the headset. Another issue that people had was that you could not dim the display panel. This is correct also, but you can set it to go out in 1 or 3 minutes. All in all, I am a 57 year old, ex computer programmer who thinks that this product should be on everyone's night stand. It also has a remote control. I'm not sure whether this review will be listed or not, but I just had to write about my thoughts concerning the neatest product I have seen in several years.
