The Bottom Line:
These speakers are a must buy if you can find them. They offer superior sound in a compact package.
I've owned these speakers for quite a while and they are awesome! I've looked at a lot of Bose speakers and they just don't have the same bang for the buck. These can actually be turned ALL THE WAY UP without distortion. I purchased these for my computer, but hooked them up to a portable cd player first and was so amazed at the sound that I was reluctant to unhook them.
Be sure not to purchase any plastic speakers. Wood really does make a difference and they aren't really that much more expensive than the plastic ones.
These are great hooked up to a tv,ipod,cd player,pc. They really fill the room with sound, (more than enough to irritate the neighbors). These speakers sound much larger than they really are.
After several years of service, one of the buttons on the top of the speaker for the volume started to stick. I used a butter knife to remove the rubber button (which covered the actual switch button) and they still work great.
One problem with I have noticed with this set of speakers is that they are really set up to be fairly close together as the cords are a little bit on the short side, but should fit fine with-in a pc work station.
