Excellent 5 channel amp

Pros excellent sound quality, very small, good build quality
Cons not as clean as a class a/b, price
Recommended it? Yes
The Bottom Line:  This is a great amp for the price and will suprise you for how small it is, check them out.
I have been into car stereos for years but I recently got a newer car and had to redo the whole installation process again.  I decided to go with a 5 channel amp instead of running 2-3 amps and various other devices in the trunk.  One of the ones I was looking at was the Alpine PDX model, mainly because of the size and it could easily fit under the seat of my sedan.

First off, this thing isn't cheap but it isn't overly expensive for a 5 channel amp. It's main specs are 75x4 at 4 or 2 ohm and 300x1 at 4 or 2 ohm on the subwoofer channel, I have however seen Alpine PDX-5 actual power sheets that say around 100x4 and 350x1 though. It is class-D which take it or leave it, doesn't provide as good sound quality as say an a/b but it doesn't drain your power as much either. The main reason you would buy this amp is because it's so tiny. It fits perfectly under the driver or passenger seat which is excellent for those that want a clean trunk. It also has a really unique way the speaker input jacks work where you can take them out individually, almost like the DEI (orion, ppi, directed) amps do. Another cool thing is if you have multiple PDX amps you can stack them one on top of another. As always the quality is great from Alpine, the construction is perfect. The only negatives I dislike about it is it being class d because I'm pretty big into sound quality and the crossovers are only 12db octave, used to 24db slopes like burr brown.

I would buy another one again definately.
