The Bottom Line:
Great for long lasting soothing of tired, dry, irritated eyes!
I tend to get dry eyes due to allergies and especially due to dry air during the winter months. I have tried a lot of different brands of eye drops in the past and I really like Allergan Refresh Liquigel Lubricant Eye Drops.
The "Liquigel" part is very true. The drops dispense like a regular eye drop, but then they coat your eyes with a thicker liquid than your natural tears. Because of this, they soothe your eyes for a longer time. That means you don't have to use them as often. I like to use them before bed, in the morning, and after work. They really refresh tired, irritated eyes.
The only slight drawback to using them is that because they go on thickly, they may cause a blurring of you eyesight for a couple of minutes. This is similar to the excess tears in your eyes after crying or getting water in your eye. The drops quickly spread out over the eye and your vision comes back to normal quickly with greatly relieved eyes. For this reason, I wouldn't recommend using them while driving, but if you put them in your eyes a minute or two before driving, there will be no problem.
The Refresh Liquigel bottle may seem a bit more expensive than most other drops, but you will find that you use them less often so you will probably save money. I have also run across coupons for a few dollars off on the bottle.
Being someone who has used eye drops for many years, I would have to recommend Allergan Refresh Liquigel Drops very highly. (I would give them two thumbs up, but when talking about eyes, that sounds painful!)
